Giving not just during the holidays

Cayman Food Bank

While the holidays are often thought of as the “season of giving”, at Dart, we are always happy to support initiatives that are aligned with our commitment to creating foundations for tomorrow and we do this throughout the year.

In 2025, we invested over CI$2 million into community initiatives that support education, promote health and wellness, encourage sustainability, celebrate culture and enhance the overall wellbeing of our community.

Let’s reflect on some of the giving we are proud to have done in 2025:

Education and Training

We invested more than CI$1 million in education programmes aimed at building skills and creating opportunities for young Caymanians – from hands-on work experience and scholarships to taking part in international competitions.

This included providing Dart Scholars with the William A. Dart Memorial University Scholarship and high school scholarships – for three Caymanians to pursue their academic dreams.

The Dart Hospitality Training Programme helped 16 young Caymanians prepare for meaningful careers in hospitality and a further 26 students gained practical, on-the-job experience through our Work-X Summer Internship Programme.

Our Minds Inspired Programme helped to further elevate STEM education through inter-school robotics competitions and selecting some of the top participants to the Cayman Islands National Robotics Team that competed in the FIRST Global Challenge. This year’s team placed 34th out of 191 nations. Additionally, 75 junior and senior students showcased their talents in 13th Annual Maths Challenge.

Environment

This year Dart, along with a couple of other sponsors, funded the three primary school class winners of the Central Caribbean Marine Institute (CCMI) competition to attend the Marine Ecology Course in Little Cayman. Demonstrating our appreciation for and the importance of marine research and conservation, Dart donated an additional CI$200,000 to ensure all Year 6 public school students can benefit from this experience in the year ahead. This is in addition to ongoing support of CCMI.

We continue to support the National Trust for the Cayman Islands, sponsoring their "Silver Thatch: A Tapestry of Nature & Heritage" fundraiser to help preserve the biodiversity of the Cayman Islands.

Health and Wellness

Investing in the mental health of children and young people is essential to building emotional resilience, reducing stigma and strengthening the Cayman Islands community. This is why we committed to a multi-year partnership with the Alex Panton Foundation (APF). Over the course of three years, our CI$138,000 contribution will be used to help APF deliver an internationally recognised programme focused on building emotional literacy in children aged five to 12 years old, helping them develop healthy coping skills that will benefit them for life.

Sports

Through our partnership with Jr NBA and Jr WNBA, over 350 students had the opportunity to participate in skills development exercises and competition during a week of activities. Former WNBA player Allison Feaster was also present and shared her journey from a small-town athlete to a 10-year professional basketball career and her current executive role with the Boston Celtics.

We also supported several other local sports initiatives, including the Flowers Sea Swim, the Cayman Youth Football League, the Cayman Islands Powerlifting Organisation and the Cayman Islands Watercraft Association’s National Tour, among others.

Community Support

Supporting our local community is at the heart of who we are, and we are proud to have sponsored and participated in initiatives and events that bring people together, promote inclusivity and the advancement of minority groups and supported those most in need.

This year, we brought back Carols in Dart Park and Summer in Dart Park – both free public family events – and supported several meaningful causes, including Honouring Women Month, World Down Syndrome Day, Pilates for Pink, Jasmine’s ‘Light up a Life’ event, Cayman Food Bank and Arrive Alive 345. We were also proud to cover the cost of a new mobile blood bank vehicle for the Cayman Islands Blood Bank.

Arts and Culture

Arts and culture also play an important role in bringing our community together through creativity and heritage. It was exciting to be a part of Cayman Art Week again, fostering the promotion of local talent while encouraging dialogue and an appreciation for the arts. We also supported the Sister Islands’ Agricultural Show, which celebrated Cayman’s rich heritage of farming and livestock rearing, along with traditions like thatch weaving.

At Dart, we believe a better tomorrow starts with the foundations we lay today and we are committed to investing for a brighter future for the Cayman Islands and our people.

Collectively, these initiatives reflect our belief that lasting impact comes from sustained investment and genuine partnership. As we look ahead, we remain committed to supporting programmes that strengthen our community, inspire generations to come and help build a healthier, more inclusive Cayman Islands – for today and years to come.
