Dart's response to COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic remains a global crisis on an unprecedented scale. At Dart, our collective priority is protecting the health and safety of our people and our community, while continuing daily business operations as best as we can. 

As the virus continues to have an impact on human welfare and global economies, Dart is closely monitoring advice and guidelines from the Cayman Islands Government and international health authorities and adapting accordingly. With the successful steps taken locally to suppress the virus and widespread testing under way, the Cayman Islands is now at Level 2 (minimal suppression) in its management of COVID-19, facilitating the continued controlled reopening of the local economy.


As of Monday, 20 July, Dart's corporate office located in Camana Bay has fully reopened as employees have returned to the office and reception resumed regular public hours between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Measures have been put in place to keep the health of our employees a top priority as we continue to adhere to health and safety protocols outlined by the Cayman Islands Government regulations.

The Leadership at Dart remains committed to our employees, tenants, business partners, and the local community, providing relief and support where we can and helping the Cayman Islands transition through the crisis created by the pandemic.

Real Estate and Development 

Following the Cayman Islands Government's decision to reopen the local construction industry in June, Dart's development team worked with other local developers and authorities to put in place new health and safety protocols to safely reopen construction sites. Current Dart projects which have resumed include the Cayman International School expansion, a 10-storey residential building and a new office building at Camana Bay. Our real estate sales offices, including Provenance Properties Cayman Islands, are now open to the public and team members serve clients while observing stringent health and safety protocols. In parallel, sales and leasing teams continue to operate with virtual showings of our commercial and residential properties, providing a safe and modern approach for clients in the Cayman Islands and abroad.


Dart retail businesses have resumed operations across the Cayman Islands. Each store is carefully adhering to the operation regulations outlined by the Government to ensure the safety of both workers and customers.

In line with Government regulations, our hotel properties, The Ritz-Carlton, Grand CaymanKimpton Seafire, Resort + Spa, Le Soleil d'Or, and Paradise Villas have reopened for local guests. The borders of the Cayman Islands closed in late March and are expected to reopen with a phased and controlled approach in October as announced by the government. Our hospitality team and partners look forward to welcoming back international guests at that time.  

R3 Cayman Foundation

To support the local recovery efforts, Ken Dart pledged CI$1 million to the newly-established R3 Cayman Foundation and has offered to match any other donations up to an additional CI$4 million. R3 Cayman Foundation is a private sector-led, non-profit Foundation Company set up to provide support through various phases of disaster recovery, from emergency preparedness and immediate financial relief to longer-lasting economic development.
