Siri, the most recent Dart Scholar hailing from Cayman Brac has her sights set on one day becoming a physician with a speciality in anesthesiology. Her favourite school subjects are biology, chemistry, mathematics, information technology, digital media work and business studies. Currently learning Japanese, Siri also loves netball, volleyball, robotics and drawing. When asked who she admires most, Siri’s answer is “my mother.”

“She is one of the kindest and most hard-working people I know. She always finds a way to balance her life and spend time with those she loves most. She sets goals for herself and always diligently works towards them and has taught me that it is okay to take a break and recharge.”

  • Second place in the Dr Bill Hrudey National Science Fair in 2023

  • First place Layman Scott High School Science Fair in 2019 and 2023

  • Rubis Top Student Finalist in 2021

  • Claudette Upton Speech Competition Winner in 2019 and 2021

  • Second place in the Optimist Oratorical in 2020

  • First runner up in the Lions Club of Cayman Brac Little Miss Pageant in 2019

  • National Spelling Bee Champion in 2017 (Primary Division) and 2019 (High School Division)

Placing second at the Dr. Bill Hrudey National Science Fair is a memorable achievement that inspired Siri. “It made me realise that I can really change the world through my research, knowledge and ideation.”

Siri’s experience as a Dart Scholar includes the 2023 enrichment trip, which took her and five other Scholars to London and Oxford.  Immersion in the 2-week young doctor programme further solidified Siri’s career aspiration in medicine.

 

Siri

Siri is a diligent student who believes in uplifting her friends and helping those in need. Her community involvement started at an early age, having joined the Girl Scouts when she was nine, and she is currently Secretary of the Leos Club of Cayman Brac. As president of her school debate club, Siri enjoys public speaking and advocating for causes that support the betterment of society.
