Nathan has set himself a target of straight A*s in his GCSE exams this summer, with Business Studies, PE, Spanish and Biology the subjects that interest him most. Nathan excels at basketball and plays guitar in the school band. A graduate of the inaugural YMCA Teen Lead On programme, Nathan likes to use his skills working with kids, and volunteering as a counsellor at summer camps during the holidays.
Receiving the Dart Scholarship showed me that dedication pays off and pairing it with hard work can attain major success. This is a mindset I will bring with me not only to the next big task in my life, but with anything and everything I decide to apply to.
Nathan's highlights
Nathan’s drive to succeed in school is matched by his determination to perform at his best on the basketball court. He applies his strong work ethic to achieve peak physical condition as an athlete and is interested in a career in sports. An internship with Dart’s sports management team gave him work experience in a related field, while stints with property management and environmental sustainability teams exposed him to other areas of interest. He is keen to embrace every opportunity that being a Dart Scholar brings.
Looking to the future, Nathan would like to attend a school where he can study biomechanics and sports science, before pursuing a career in physical therapy or personal training.
