Jaiden currently attends Orange County Community College in New York, where she is completing her final year of secondary education before transitioning to university. Her relocation to New York not only marked a significant chapter of independence and determination but also laid the foundation for her academic pursuits. Beyond the classroom, Jaiden is a dedicated athlete and trains with one of the top gymnastics clubs in America, where she has won many awards. Jaiden is passionate about architecture and engineering, while also finding fulfilment in mentoring and coaching young gymnasts.
Recognising the profound impact her mother has had on her life, Jaiden draws inspiration from her strong work ethic and unwavering dedication. Her mother encouraged her to apply for the Dart scholarship in 2020 and has provided unwavering support every step of the way.
The Dart scholarship has been instrumental in helping me realise my academic and extracurricular aspirations. Moving to New York taught me valuable life skills and with the support of my mom, I've been able to achieve milestones in both gymnastics and academics. I look forward to furthering my passion for architecture and engineering, inspired by the diverse experiences the scholarship has offered me, including the unforgettable 2023 trip to Oxford and London.
Jaiden's highlights
In 2021 and 2022, Jaiden interned with Dart’s design team, where she got to work on several architectural projects. This opportunity afforded her the chance to collaborate with a diverse array of professionals within the team, spanning from landscape designers to architects and interior designers. It was through this experience that she realised that architecture was the path she was truly passionate about pursuing.
After earning her bachelor’s degree, Jaiden sees herself heading back to her roots in Cayman to contribute to her community. Beyond her immediate goals, she sets her sights on attaining a master's degree and becoming licensed architect.
