2021 William A. Dart Memorial University Scholar
University of California, Berkeley, USA
Political Science & French
Aiden is pursuing a double major in Political Science and French at UC Berkeley. In politics, he’s interested in using the mathematics of game theory to understand social problems, while French literature fulfils his creative side. Aiden was Head Boy at Cayman Prep & High School, where he also represented his school on the debate team, at the Model UN and at Minds Inspired Maths Challenge. Aiden enjoys reading, playing guitar with friends and he plays in a band.
My motivation comes from my basic conviction that each day is a chance to make a positive difference.
Aiden is making the most of his studies and the extra-curricular activities on offer at UC Berkeley. He attends the Linguaphiles club which introduces a different language each week, sits on the Student Advisory Committee and regularly travels to San Francisco to attend the World Affairs Forum where he’s met diplomats, journalists and even President Obama’s speechwriter. Aiden gained work experience with Dart’s investment analyst team, building and reviewing financial models to forecast project costs and revenues, and has also completed two internships in the Office of the Premier.
Aiden has not yet nailed down a specific career path but wants to do something with tangible social effects. In the long run, he plans to bring skills learned in the wider world back to Cayman.
