Doing business in the Cayman Islands with the future in mind, Scotiabank opened the doors of its first fully digital branch in April 2018. This branch is located on the ground floor of the LEED Gold-certified 18 Forum Lane in Camana Bay, occupying nearly 19,000 square feet between the retail branch and its office space on the second floor.

Scotiabank opened in the Cayman Islands as the Bank of Nova Scotia in 1966. Incorporating in the Cayman Islands as the country’s first trust company, it set up headquarters in George Town on Cardinall Avenue, with retail locations in South Sound and The Strand shopping centre on West Bay Road. With this move to Camana Bay, the bank now has two retail locations: 18 Forum Lane and its South Sound branch. The bank is the retail bank with the largest footprint in the Caribbean, operating in 23 countries.

One of just four fully digital Scotiabank branches in the Caribbean region, the branch provides a “central location, free and accessible parking and modern facilities in close proximity to necessary amenities,” as described by Scotiabank & Trust (Cayman) Ltd. Managing Director, Dwight Burrows. Amenities include: access to more than 300 parking spaces directly adjacent to 18 Forum Lane, over 40 shops, 15 restaurants, cafes and eateries, and Grand Cayman’s only cinema, Camana Bay Cinema. Camana Bay also hosts over 600 events annually, the majority free and open to the public.

“Camana Bay provides a number of benefits for both our staff and our customers. The new branch provides a central location, free and accessible parking and modern facilities in close proximity to necessary amenities,” said Dwight Burrows, Managing Director, Scotiabank & Trust (Cayman) Ltd.

The second retail bank to relocate to Camana Bay, Scotiabank will add to Cayman National Bank’s offerings to provide visitors and tenants access to convenient banking options.

“With its long history in the Caribbean and the Cayman Islands offering premier banking services, we are pleased to welcome Scotiabank to the Camana Bay community,” said Jackie Doak, president of Dart Real Estate. “Scotiabank represents the type of financial services firms that choose to operate from Camana Bay, underlining our mutual commitment to the Cayman Islands and providing customers and tenants alike access to world-class amenities.”

Offering almost 700,000 square feet of Class-A Grand Cayman commercial property for lease, Camana Bay has become a hub of financial services, with international law, accounting and reinsurance firms choosing to base their Cayman Islands operations here. Amenities include over 300 parking spaces directly adjacent to 18 Forum Lane, as well as shops, restaurants, fitness and medical facilities and the island’s only cinema just steps away.

The commercial leasing options at Camana Bay offer any international or Cayman Islands business opportunities to be a part of a vibrant and bustling community. For more details on current availability in the Town Centre, click here, email leasing@camanabay.com or call +1.345.640.3600.
