Camana Bay continues to pursue sustainable avenues when it comes to the daily operations of its facilities.

Just in time for World Environment Day (5 June) and World Ocean Day (8 June), Camana Bay recently invested in a new chiller to provide consistent and environmentally sustainable HVAC services to Camana Bay's facilities.

"The efficiency of the new chiller can save up to 350,000 kilowatt-hours per year, which translates to 286,300 pounds of avoided [carbon dioxide] emissions annually," said Chip Ogilvie, director of property operations for Dart.

The new Trane Ecowise chiller was brought online as Camana Bay expands the distributed chilled water plant to accommodate new buildings. The new chiller is approximately 13% more efficient than the facility's existing chillers, which were already considered industry leaders at their time of installation. The new Trane Ecowise chiller uses modern refrigerants and is considered among the best chillers in the industry when it comes to carbon emissions.
