Camana Bay, Dart’s flagship mixed-use, master-planned community has been named a finalist for the prestigious 2025 Urban Land Institute (ULI) Southeast Florida/Caribbean Vision Awards – Project of the Year. The development is one of six standout projects from the region to be recognised for excellence in design, planning and impact.
Spanning 685 acres along Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach corridor, Camana Bay is a vibrant and sustainable town that integrates residential, commercial, educational and recreational spaces. Its design prioritises walkability, placemaking and a strong Caribbean sense of identity, offering a model for thoughtful, long-term urban development.
“We are honoured that Camana Bay has been named a finalist for the ULI Vision Awards,” said Gary Gibbs, executive vice president, development at Dart. “From the outset, Camana Bay was envisioned as more than a development; it was designed to be a dynamic community that brings people together in one holistic environment of living, working and enjoying free time.
“Being recognised by ULI, one of the most respected voices in global land use and urban development, affirms the value of our long-term vision and approach to placemaking rooted in local culture and sense of place.”
According to the ULI Vision Awards brochure, “Camana Bay exemplifies long-term vision and placemaking rooted in regional identity” and is described as “a thriving hub for commerce, culture and everyday life”.
Camana Bay is widely recognised for its human-centred design, robust community programming and positive economic impact on the Cayman Islands. Developed by Dart, the town represents a commitment to sustainability, inclusivity and future-focused urban planning, all of which align with the ULI’s mission to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact.
The winners of the ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean Vision Awards will be announced on 20 November.
