More choice.
That's what customers will find when they walk into the new Blackbeard's store that opens this month on Eastern Avenue, across from Kirk Market.
The new store is the largest in the Blackbeard's chain, which has five other locations on Grand Cayman and one on Cayman Brac.
The new store is located in the front part of the former Cox Lumber complex.
Retail Manager Helen Wong said the new Blackbeard's location will offer an enhanced shopping experience.
"Customers will find the largest range of wines and spirits on the island in one location, as well as a wide selection of beers and hard seltzers," she said.
As it is in other Blackbeard's stores, there will be staff "on the floor" to answer any questions and help customers make their choices. Once the COVID-19 outbreak eases, there will also be regularly organised wine tastings in the store to allow customers to sample different wines, Wong said.
The new store also accepts the Polyn loyalty rewards card, which allows members to earn points for each purchase of wine or spirits they make. The store also accepts cases of reusable empty bottles of Cayman Islands Brewery products like Caybrew, White Tip and Ironshore for a CI$2 store credit.
The opening of the new store caps a busy year for Blackbeard's, which saw the reopening of a renovated store in Cayman Falls across from the Westin hotel and the closure of its location in The Strand shopping plaza in anticipation of the opening of the new Eastern Avenue store.
Cayman Distributors Group General Manager Alex McClenaghan said the new store is strategically located.
"Conveniently located across the street from Kirk Market, our customers can now easily pop into the new Blackbeard's location for their adult beverages," he said. "For those who are driving, they'll find plenty of dedicated parking there."
The Blackbeard's Eastern Avenue store will be open from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. through 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. However, to facilitate increased holiday shopping during the month of December, the closing time on Fridays and Saturdays will be extended one hour to 10 p.m.
