Matthew Bishop is Dart’s executive vice president, Active Capital and executive director, Active Capital. Mat oversees the management of Active Capital and its subsidiary companies which operate across a broad spectrum of industries including wholesale, retail, manufacturing, entertainment and hospitality.
Mat was born and raised in New Zealand and is a graduate of the University of Otago. After working in the telco sector in the UK, Mat moved to the Cayman Islands in 2003 and joined Dart in 2006.
Mat has a wealth of business management experience in multiple European, Asian, American and Caribbean markets and he uses the knowledge gleaned from these experiences to drive Active Capital’s extensive business portfolio.
Mat lives in George Town with his wife Kim and their three ‘not so small’ children. He remains actively involved in the community from running sports leagues to serving on voluntary boards and spends his spare time ferrying his kids between activities or working (very slowly) on his golf handicap.
When you have good people in a team you can achieve great things. A good manager just helps guide them in the right direction.
